PUWER Compliance for Lifts
If you are responsible for any equipment in a commercial environment, including a lift, you must ensure PUWER compliance.
Like LOLER, PUWER compliance is a legal requirement. Failing to meet LOLER and PUWER’s standards could put your business, employees and visitors at significant risk. To ensure maximum lift safety and compliance, book an assessment with Rise Elevator.
What is PUWER?
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) requires the prevention or control of any risk to people’s health and safety directly from the equipment they use at work. PUWER compliance covers lifts under LOLER. Regular lift maintenance and servicing alongside your LOLER Inspection by a qualified lift engineer will ensure PUWER compliance.
Difference between PUWER and LOLER?
A LOLER (Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations) applies to any lifting equipment used in a commercial environment, including passenger lifts, goods lifts and stairlifts.
While PUWER relates to the suitability and maintenance of all equipment, including the planning operations and the training of equipment users. PUWER covers all equipment, while LOLER only covers lifts. Both are relevant to lift compliance and safety, give us a call or drop us an email to book your assessment.
